It's like trying to stop a locomotive
When the engineer's on meth
Dancing with lifes neon pleasures
And over her shoulder you wink at death
Me and Swagger Jack
We don't breathe to be here long
But for another smoke, for another drink
We're the lyric to a Waylon song
We stomp our feet on a rotting floor
To feel the power in the thump
And when we crash through the other side
We won't free fall, we'll jump
We gamble with the devil beneath the moon
And if it rhymes, inside the sun
If temptation offers us a morsel
We wrestle her for a ton

On The Backs Of Giants
Leaning my head on the backs of giants
Just to catch the smallest breath
Why they gather above me
A fool like me can't venture to guess
They pirouette at my bedside
And pull me from the grave
I rest on the backs of giants
Like drought rests on the rain
Just to catch the smallest breath
Why they gather above me
A fool like me can't venture to guess
They pirouette at my bedside
And pull me from the grave
I rest on the backs of giants
Like drought rests on the rain

Everywhere, Just Like The Air
You don't know how sweet the air
Feels when you are standing there
I'm in a mushroom cloud
And I'm on the ledge
You're a morphine drip right to the head
You're everywhere, just like the air
If my scowl it flips, you're the hand that tips
You're the light that burns off midnight fog
The fire that pushes me when my steam is gone
And you don't know how much it takes
To cure my heart when there's so much ache
It's a breath, it's a breath till it's almost gone
Then I see your eyes
Like the dew sees dawn
Feels when you are standing there
I'm in a mushroom cloud
And I'm on the ledge
You're a morphine drip right to the head
You're everywhere, just like the air
If my scowl it flips, you're the hand that tips
You're the light that burns off midnight fog
The fire that pushes me when my steam is gone
And you don't know how much it takes
To cure my heart when there's so much ache
It's a breath, it's a breath till it's almost gone
Then I see your eyes
Like the dew sees dawn

Amplify Me
You turn me on
Like a neuron in my brain
If electric powered every breath
Like a needle jolts the vein
You're a dollop of Janis Joplin
And a pinch of Grace Kelly
When the world scares me to silence
You amplify me
Like a neuron in my brain
If electric powered every breath
Like a needle jolts the vein
You're a dollop of Janis Joplin
And a pinch of Grace Kelly
When the world scares me to silence
You amplify me

Alchemy Ink
Like a grain of sand on an I.V. drip
An eager bullet in a gun on a holstered hip
How the magic feels, how the thoughts they think
My favorite taste, it's called Alchemy Ink
They say enchantment is a myth but what do I spy
Whispers in my ear right before my eyes
No sense of breath and no time to blink
A bashful riot, this Alchemy Ink
To bottle in a jar, there's no prayer for such hope
She flitters through your brain like a butterfly on coke
She'll parch you to a quiver then slide you a drink
The blade and the bandage, Alchemy Ink
An eager bullet in a gun on a holstered hip
How the magic feels, how the thoughts they think
My favorite taste, it's called Alchemy Ink
They say enchantment is a myth but what do I spy
Whispers in my ear right before my eyes
No sense of breath and no time to blink
A bashful riot, this Alchemy Ink
To bottle in a jar, there's no prayer for such hope
She flitters through your brain like a butterfly on coke
She'll parch you to a quiver then slide you a drink
The blade and the bandage, Alchemy Ink

Rock The Kerouac
Rock the Kerouac
From the pen to the page
Give me just your whisper
Take my hand and promenade
Twirl me 'round a marble floor
Like the snow drifts across the street
Grant me just a little kiss
Whenever our paths, they meet
Teach me to reach the high notes
Even when my voice is strained
If God should leave me in a desert
Be my drop of rain
Cause wherever light and warmth meet
That's where I wanna go
Like Jesus speaks, a blush touches the cheek
Be the color of a firefly's glow
From the pen to the page
Give me just your whisper
Take my hand and promenade
Twirl me 'round a marble floor
Like the snow drifts across the street
Grant me just a little kiss
Whenever our paths, they meet
Teach me to reach the high notes
Even when my voice is strained
If God should leave me in a desert
Be my drop of rain
Cause wherever light and warmth meet
That's where I wanna go
Like Jesus speaks, a blush touches the cheek
Be the color of a firefly's glow
Marco Polo
She's cocaine in the bloodstream
A porn star in my bed
Where the pipeline meets the flame
This little whisper in my head
She's a fickle mistress to mess with
For she never says goodbye
Invisible as the air
Or where the ocean meets the tide
A porn star in my bed
Where the pipeline meets the flame
This little whisper in my head
She's a fickle mistress to mess with
For she never says goodbye
Invisible as the air
Or where the ocean meets the tide

Evolve-O-Lution
There's a sweet little seed that was banned in '37
They pray for God's mercy
Then swear it's hell not heaven
You burn down a sick man's pharmacy
Pump his veins with O.C.'s
Then fire him if his piss ain't clean
It's like any war that they try to sell you
First, they pump you full of fear
And then they promise it's your refuge
And the man who gave this gun a bullet
He left office as a crook
Still we cock it and pull it
You see, it's not about health or safety
If that were the case
Then gin would lead to the penitentiary
It's that they started a war and now they can't stop
If they admit they were wrong
You'll wonder what other skeletons they've got
Like how they teach our youth only man and woman can wed
But if it's such a sacred union
Why does Daddy sneak off to his mistress' bed
They've got a bucket full of crayons and tell you who can and can't color
I'm good enough to be your nanny
But I'm not fit to be a mother
They carry this flag that it's a conscious choice
That's like learning to sing
And being able to manufacture an other's voice
People like me, we get strung up by the wires
We're called filth and abominations
But God and I are cool with each other
They dress hate up in tinsel and say they protect love
But love doesn't need an army
Any more than the ocean needs a sponge
You see, it's all about fear passed down like a broach
They say they speak for Jesus
But I can hear him clearing his throat
You invest all your morals in your grandmother's Bible
But what about the gospels
Your Pope ordered to be burned in the temples
And that silly little law that a priest can't marry
Did you know it was enacted
Just to keep property for the clergy
So now millions have suffered in the name of power and greed
If the taxman made Jesus angry
We are making him seethe
I don't fear God like you do and I'm quite certain He's not threatened
A jealous God is a weak God
And I have faith His love cannot be lessened
I don't go to church cause this is between Him and I
Do you gather 'round you a crowd
When you gaze into the love of your life's eyes
He gave me a brain and He said "There, go and think"
Cause if you follow dead men
They'll only lead you to be extinct
They pray for God's mercy
Then swear it's hell not heaven
You burn down a sick man's pharmacy
Pump his veins with O.C.'s
Then fire him if his piss ain't clean
It's like any war that they try to sell you
